As we embark on a 12 day and 11 nights journey of discovery through some of the most breathtaking landscapes of Rwanda. Embark on an unforgettable biking adventure along the stunning Congo Nile Trail, which stretches alongside the beautiful Lake Kivu in Rwanda. This tour is perfect for adventurous spirits eager to explore remote villages, lush forests, and breathtaking mountain landscapes while immersing themselves in the rich local culture.

Arrival at Kigali International Airport, meet and greet with our driver guide and transfer to Rubavu for dinner and overnight stay at Kivu Hilltop View Resort.

Early in the morning after breakfast, transfer to Rubavu (Gisenyi town) for briefing and starting point towards Cyimbiri in Rutsiro district (18 km). In the middle of this stage, you can choose to experience community based activities from traditional pottery, traditional healing and music, to coffee and tea experience. This stage ends at Cyimbiri base Camp for dinner and camping for overnight stay. For lunch, it is better to have packed snacks. Stage level: Medium Duration: 5 hours

After morning breakfast, starting is at Cyimbiri base Camp 15 km passing through small villages with the charming view of amazing landscapes, in the middle of this stage you have opportunity to experience community based activities including: Bee keeping experience, Handcraft making with local women experience. This stage ends at Amara kivu Beach for dinner and overnight stay. For lunch, it is better to have packed snacks. Stage Level: Medium Duration: 4.30 hours

Starting point at Amara kivu Beach After breakfast, this stage is a bit challenging with 15km but gives an opportunity to cycle around rolling hills and have great view of clear water of Lake Kivu. Different agro-tourism activities are available for those who prefer to spend time with local community. This stage ends at Musasa Homestay for dinner and night overstay. For lunch, it is better to have packed snacks. Stage level: Tough Duration: 4-5 hours

Early in the morning after breakfast from Musasa Homestay to Bumba 14km, this stage is high above the lake providing amazing view of Lake Kivu and into the valley of koko-River. It has some steep and challenging parts. Dinner and Overnight stay at Bumba base camp. For lunch, it is better to have packed snacks. Stage level: Tough Duration: 4 hours

Starting this last stage of northern part Congo-Nile trail after morning breakfast from Bumba base camp to Kibuye (Karongi district) is 17 kilometers. On the way, we take a stopover for lunch at local restaurant (Mutimamwiza restaurant). At the end of this stage, by night time you may choose to experience night fishing with Famous fishermen songs, swimming cows, sorghum and silkworms experience which awards a remarkable experience and interaction with local peoples. This stage ends at Rebero Kivu Resort for dinner and night overstay. Stage level: Medium Duration: 5 hours

Early in the morning, our driver guide will transfer you from Rebero Kivu Resort to starting point (Karongi roundabout) towards Mugonero which is 22 kilometers. This stage gives a great view of Lake Kivu with its beautiful Islands, and gives you opportunity to interact with local community alongside the road. Dinner and overnight stay at Inzozi Eco Camp. For lunch, it is better to have packed snacks. Stage level: Medium Duration: 4-5 hours

After morning breakfast we embark on the tour as this stage starts from Inzozi Eco Camp towards Kumbya (30 kilometers) through Kivu belt Road overlooking lake and valley with rice field. Lovely serene and peaceful retreat center on peninsula of Lake Kivu with small forest of native tree which birder’s paradise. This stage ends at Kumbya Eco Lodge for dinner and overnight stay. For lunch, it is better to have packed snacks. Stage level: Medium Duration: 5-6 hours

This stage starts from Kumbya Eco-Lodge to Nyamasheke which is 14 kilometers through Kivu belt road with charming greetings from local community alongside the road, and Kamiranzovu marsh experience. At this stage, lunch takes place at Imuhira camp & CBT and this stage ends there where dinner and overnight stay are covered. Stage level: Medium Duration: 4 hours

After morning breakfast, the stage starts from Imuhira Camp & CBT to Shangi which is 25 kilometers. Alongside the road, you will experience tea plantations and historical landmark “Richard Kandt House”. The tour ends at Saint Martin Parish in priest compound for dinner and overnight stay. For lunch, it is better to have packed snacks. Stage level: Medium Duration: 4-5 hours

After morning breakfast, the stage starts from Saint Martin Parish priest ground heading to Kamembe which is 25 kilometers. Alongside the road, we experience iconic hilly landscape which is tea planted, an opportunity to interact with local community while doing their daily activities, and charming view of Bukavu town in DRC. The Tour ends at Peace Guest House for dinner and overnight stay. This stage ends at Peace Guest House as where lunch is served, dinner and overnight stay. By evening time, you may choose to do Kamembe Night City Tour either by walking or by using a car. Stage level: Medium Duration: 4-5 hours

Last day is for driving from Kamembe back to Kigali for departure. The journey is approximately 6 hours through Kigali – Rusizi road and you are able to take your flight by afternoon or evening. The lunch is served at stanford restaurant in Nyanza district.
